Shaw Industries/Shaw Web Studio (SWS) — Dalton, GA

 

Senior Digital Specialist − Residential Marketing June 2014 to Present

  • Filmed and edited footage for a variety of Shaw events and groups. See the Videos page for more details.
  • Wrote weekly email newsletters for SWS flooring dealers, educating them about effective digital marketing. Created various external and internal communications, such as newsletters, marketing materials, and technical training materials. The audience size varied from hundreds to thousands.

  • Marketed digital services to dealers using a strategy focused on education and familiar jargon. Simple terminology and relatable analogies were effective for demonstrating critical business needs.

  • Edited and maintained copy for hundreds of flooring dealer (and many internal Shaw) websites.

  • Planned and outlined development instructions regarding new features for the SWS website editing platform, with strategic consideration for future features on our team’s roadmap.

  • Trained various groups of new sales associates regarding Shaw’s digital marketing solutions. 

  • Educated and managed many digital marketing interns over the years. These interns varied in their fields of study, including marketing, development, and communication.

  • Mentored elementary school students through a 2016-2017 Shaw/STEM program in Dalton.

  • Traveled to markets across North America to conduct presentations and sell digital services.

  • Built and maintained customer relationships with subscribed flooring dealers.

  • Reviewed completed website development to ensure the SWS features were created correctly. Then announced the new features to dealers who were subscribed to the website platform. 

  • Coordinated a content management system (CMS) platform change as project lead in collaboration with a third-party company. Provided feedback as a liaison to oversea developers through TFS.

 

Support Coordinator − Residential Marketing June 2012 to June 2014

  • Created a series of content surveys to help flooring dealers better provide unique content for their websites, with the intention of improving Search Engine Optimization (SEO).
  • Discussed and sold Promoboxx (Shaw’s social media content generation program) to dealers.

  • Held training sessions for hundreds of flooring dealers regarding website editing, online directories, SEO, and marketing. Sessions were by phone, in-person, or through screen-sharing.  

  • Answered support calls, chats, and emails regarding individual dealer websites. Resolved requests and concerns, developed relationships, and noted valuable recommendations for the platform.
